PokerStars World Cup of Poker VII
28/11/2010 14:23The PokerStars download has players all sorts of chances to make it to the PCA in 2011, but possibly the most original opportunity comes with the WCP (World Cup of Poker). 56 different national teams will have the goal of making it to the live final. The live final table is scheduled to take place next year in the Bahamas where 9 national teams will compete for a $100,000 first place prize.
Each country’s team will consist of 5 players: the best online poker player of the country, a PokerStars pro, and 3 additional qualifiers. Each region’s best player according to the PokerStars TLB is automatically on the national team. The 3 additional qualifiers will need to play satellites. Those new to poker will appreciate that these satellites are very affordable. The cash satellites are only $1 and there are both freeroll and FPP satellites. You would do well to use the PokerStars bonus code and try the cash and FPP satellites because every player that tries them gets the opportunity in a $100k freeroll that takes place at the end of January if their country wins it all!
Once all the qualifiers are over, the teams are divided into divisions. Teams need to win their divisions to make it to the final round, so those that win big on money poker sites will have the best chance. A number of tournaments will be played, and players get points based on where they finish. When the tournaments are finished, the teams that have the most points in their division move on to the final round.
Players on the winning teams will be invited to leave their US poker sites in favor of the 2011 PCA. Each winner gets free accommodations at the Atlantis as well as cash for their flights. After they get to the Atlantis, each winner competes in a one table tournament in hopes of winning their team a large starting stack for the final table.
If anything, players will want a chance to play in this unique final table format not found in online poker rooms. The team’s chips are divided equally amongst its players and then each player receives cards for an orbit. Once every player has rotated and played at least once, it becomes a fight for survival. Teams receive a portion of the prize pool depending on where they end up, and the team placing first is awarded $100k. Because the PokerStars pro has a job to promote the PokerStars marketing code, they are not in it for the prize money. This means that the other four players receive $25,000 each!
The PCA is the PokerStars flagship event, so they do everything in their power to make it a fantastic experience. They also make it their goal to get as many of their players there as possible. If you would like to play a fun game and be part of the action, download free poker and enter a few qualifiers. Be quick if you intend on getting into the promo that I have described in this article, however. The FPP satellites finish up today!
